Daniel: A Path to Faithful Witness is a spiritually enriching study of the Book of Daniel that can be used by an individual, a small group, or a church class. Using a “hands-on” approach to Bible study, the readers will discover the riches of Daniel as they are guided step-by-step through the Scripture.
When someone mentions the Book of Daniel, the story of Daniel in the lions’ den comes to mind immediately. Or, we might remember the miraculous deliverance of the three Hebrews from the fiery furnace. However, the mention of Daniel may also remind us of the deep mysteries regarding the last days and the end of the world. In this study, you will learn the two main emphases of the Book of Daniel: (1) You will learn how to be a faithful witness in the midst of an unbelieving world; and (2) You will learn that God will bring all human kingdoms to an end, and He will establish His eternal kingdom with Jesus the Messiah as king.
In these ten Bible study lessons, we will be reading and discovering the Book of Daniel, and we will learn how to trust God in the midst of challenging times. Daniel teaches us how we can remain faithful to God even when we are surrounded by other religions and systems of belief. Daniel speaks to the challenge of being in the world but not of the world (see John 17:16). Also, Daniel’s visions of the end show us that just as God ruled over the life and times of Daniel, God continues to rule over the world today. These visions assure us that God is in control and that we can trust in Him. They give us vibrant hope so that we can fulfill our mission as faithful witnesses of Jesus Christ until He returns. Even in the face of difficult challenges, we can live faithfully in the light of the end, as we look for the “blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:13 NKJV).
