The general overseer serves as the leader and the pastor of the Church of God. His style, character, and vision greatly influence the direction of the denomination, and serve as models for young ministers.
From the inception of the office of general overseer, twenty-one ministers have served in this position. This book tells their individual stories, sharing their family and ministerial backgrounds, and emphasizing their contribution while serving as general overseer. A sermon from each one reveals their heart and shows their style of communication.
From A.J. Tomlinson, the first general overseer, until Raymond Culpepper, whose term ended in 2012, Dr. Douglas LeRoy has known personally all but the first three of our general overseers. That places him in a unique position to tell the stories of these officials and reflect on their leadership. This has been a labor of love for Doug LeRoy, and he has done well!
