A Critical Time Out

A Critical Time Out

There is no question that God at times today is lifting His protective hand off our country. For decades we have told God that we don’t want Him in our schools, in our governments, or in many of our public venues. We have said that we don’t want His word (the Bible) read, or His Son, Jesus, mentioned when we pray in public. We hold interfaith prayer services where He is treated as an equal to false gods or no gods like Allah, Buhha, Shang Ti, and others. God is offended and angered by our rebellion. In the Old Testament, God often allowed Israel’s enemies to chasten His own people so they would humble themselves and see their need for Him. He is not above doing that in America as well. The question remains then, will the young generation of today look to the Deliverer, Jesus Christ, or look to the cultural gods of their age?" more

Black 100 Feet

Black 100 Feet

There are times in our lives when the consequences of certain choices we make stand out more than others. Those are the times when, in essence, it seems like the world has stopped to see what we will do. It feels that way because we really have no clue what to do. Some of us instead of asking for help or praying for guidance choose to figure it out on our own. Unfortunately sometimes that’s the way many of us have to learn. This book explores the life of a young man that ran the streets hard and came to a point in his life where he needed to make some changes. You see he was infected with a disease…a disease called “Street Life”. It’s a disease that many of us have had or knew someone who has/had it. Most people look at what they see and do not bother to explore where the behavior came from. Like most situations, some treat the behavior and not the source. Regardless of how the help comes we can rest assure that we’ll never be alone when we turn our eyes to God. more

Complexities Along My Life’s Journey-But God

Complexities Along My Life’s Journey-But God

Everyone has a story but few take time to tell their story. Complexities Along My Life’s Journey-But God, Wayne Heil has shared an interesting narrative that begins with a German family moving to Russia, escaping by night to America in fear of the oncoming Bolshevik revolution, and finding a home in South Dakota. It was here that Wayne’s personal story begins in Mobridge. What follows is a fascinating narrative of loving families, beautiful romance, and marriage to two beautiful women, varied successful ministries, and sometimes even bitter disappointment. In spite of several setbacks and discouragement, this story is about a triumphant life that is rooted in the rich soil of a deep faith. The church would be blessed if more people of faith would share their trials and triumphs as honestly as Wayne Heil has in this engaging account of his faith journey. more

But through them, God wrought many wonderful things—things that some may have thought strange and mysterious. John L. Matthews was one of those men. Matthews exceedingly glad. more

Journey Of Faith

Journey Of Faith

In Journey of Faith, the author recounts the story of Paul and Sheila McLaughlan. For over 50 years, Paul and Sheila McLaughlan have poured themselves into Christian ministry work in Scotland and England. They have been the face of the Church of God in Scotland for more than 30 years. Their roots run deep in this land that once offered the world exceptional religious reformers, articulate and persuasive pulpiteers, distinguished pastors, and passionate missionaries. The McLaughlans’ unquenchable desire is that once again the Holy Spirit would touch the hearts of harvesters—from home and abroad—to pick up the torch of the gospel, seize the moment, and become instruments of revival and evangelism in what could very well be the last ingathering opportunity before the return of Jesus Christ. . .. The shared life of Paul and Sheila McLaughlan has not been one of seeking comfort and convenience; it has not been a life spent developing lucrative business enterprises. Neither has it been a life lived in luxury, nor one of laying up earthly treasures. Rather, their life together has been one of forsaking all to follow Christ. Their equally shared commitment has been to please and honour God through sacrificial living and obedient service—whatever the cost. This they have done, and they have done it “as unto the Lord”— to God be the glory! more

Lighted Trail PB

Lighted Trail PB

One of the most challenging summonses for the Christian movement in America is the call to respond to the echoing cry rising from its truly indigenous people, the American Indians. According to the 2010 census, 5.2 million people in the US classified themselves as such, either alone or in combination with one or more other races. Out of this total, 2.9 million people identified as American Indian and Alaska native alone. With all the mission causes embraced by the Christian movement in America, one of the closest mission fields for the church continues to be the American Indian population, especially those residing on reservations. This story is of one Chippewa Indian’s conversion to Christianity as a teenager, and his enduring passion to serve his own people. It is a story of how God can use one person to make a notable difference in the lives of so many—in confines of a small community and in the broader context of a nation. more

Passing The Torch

Passing The Torch

The time will come in every organization when leadership roles and personnel will change. Pastors and local churches especially face the challenges of transitioning to new leadership as pastors accept new positions or retire. God has never left anyone to serve in a ministry role perpetually. Therefore, if that particular ministry is to continue, someone has to receive the torch, or mantle, of leadership from the departing or retiring minister to ensure its continuance. Successfully handing off the office of leadership to a successor requires preparation, godly wisdom, understanding, and a heart to please God. Likewise, it also requires the successor to wisely and faithfully receive the torch at the hands of his predecessor. When this happens properly, as it did with Moses and Joshua, Elijah and Elisha, and as it did in the New Testament with Paul and Timothy, the results are favorable because the action is an expression of God’s will, and because it ensures continuity in the spreading of the gospel. more

Songs Of Moses

Songs Of Moses

The idea of this book is to look at the life style of Moses. He was such an outstanding man of God; and his fellowship with the Lord shows in his life and circumstances. Any leader can look to him as an example. God talked to him intimately, as a friend and Moses gave detailed instructions on everything the Lord talked to him about. He is a prime example of one who was called of God, even before he was born and his footsteps were truly ordered by the Almighty. God used every part of his life; both in the palace and wilderness to make him the leader that Israel needed. Also God used him to write five book of the Bible to help us understand the ways of God. more
