The Church Member's Manual

The Church Member's Manual

What is the purpose of membership in the local church? What are the expectations of the church member? These questions are explored and answered in this book which offers scripturally based directives for productive service in the local church. Calling upon thirty years of ministry and a lifetime in the church, Patrick L. Kelly argues that church members need to be taught about the responsibilities and duties of local church membership. Modern churchgoers are more concerned about benefits and privileges, but he points to the necessity of partnership and cooperation. When believers also view membership as an opportunity to covenant with and serve the body of Christ through a local ministry, greater productivity in the Kingdom of God can be accomplished. The Church Member’s Manual will enable the individual to know exactly what is expected of him or her, and to be equipped for maximum productivity in the local church. more

The Speed Of Favor PB

The Speed Of Favor PB

Rather than Christians living in fear of what’s to come, Tim Hill invites them to move to a new level of trust and confidence in God and a higher level of faith and expectation as they discover the accelerated season of favor God has promised for the days ahead. Flying in the face of the doomsayers who forecast the demise of the church, Hill recovers an ancient prophetic promise of provision. Sharing how this revelation affected his own family, finances, and faith, Hill challenges readers to break free from a powerless, status-quo Christian life filled with anxiety, depression, and hopelessness as they discover how God’s blessings and provision precede them and enable them to make a difference in others’ lives. more

Together In One Mission: Pentecostal Cooperation in World Evangelization

Church of God General Overseer Mark Williams and 25 Pentecostal leaders from around the world discuss partnership and cooperation in local and global evangelism. Excellent insights and practical models for pastors and local church missions leaders. Together in One Mission makes a significant contribution to world evangelization, detailing the team-work among Pentecostals to reach the lost. What Is Pentecost?

What Is Pentecost?

This is a revised edition of the classic 1963 edition, which has been out-of-print for many years. In the introduction to the 1963 edition, then editor in chief of Church of God Publications Lewis J. Willis said, “Only a minimum of editing has been employed so as to retain the spiritual warmth and personal freshness of pulpit delivery.” That statement remains true with this new edition. A sincere effort has been made to retain the style and spirit of Dr. Hughes’ writing on this important subject. The revisions are minimal. The major change is a new format for the Study Section at the end of the book. Other changes include correcting typographical errors found in the 1963 edition, adding Scripture references to all quoted verses, updating the copyright page, typesetting the book in a more readable modern typeface, redesigning the inside pages, and adding a new four-color cover. It is hoped that these changes will make the revised edition even more usable for a new generation of readers who are seeking the answer to the question, What Is Pentecost? more

When Leaves Turn Under

When Leaves Turn Under

We often wonder about how God grows our faith. Kathy and I can now attest to the fact that the largest lessons learned about faith often have come in the depths of the darkest moments. As God permits the twists and turns of life, He does so with a view toward tomorrow--recognizing before we can, that these moments will forge a new capacity for faith and courage in us, necessary for future He plans. more

Wolves At The Door PB

Wolves At The Door PB

Looking across the horizon, the profit Habakkuk used several metaphors to describe his enemies God’s people. Among them were his chilling description: “more fierce than the evening wolves.” A more graphic and distressing example of godlessness and opposition cannot be found. Today, these wolves are still on the prowl. They love to attack at twilight, for they flourish in a mixture of darkness and light. How should we, as the sheep of God’s pasture, react to their howls and their scratching at our door? Let’s lay claim to Psalm 112:7, which says believers, “They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord” (NIV). more
