Alone With God: Devotions By Freda (Paperback)

Alone With God: Devotions By Freda (Paperback)

To be alone with God is to take time to shut out the world around us and enter into fellowship with God not unlike that which Adam and Eve enjoyed in the Garden of Eden when God came down in the cool of the day to walk with them (see Genesis 3:8). That is what this book is about—moving away from the hustle and bustle of today’s hectic life into a time of intimacy with God, closing our ears to the din of daily life and hearing only the voice of God. He will speak to our spirit with a still, small voice that speaks louder than the wind, the earthquake, and the fire, and will have a greater impact than the loudest voices of this life, for it is in this time alone with God that we hear the voice of His Spirit, receive His guidance, and gain strength for our journey. —From the Foreword by Dr. Tim Hill more

Be Light: Shining God’s Beauty, Truth, and Hope into a Darkened World

The Blueprint for Overcoming Darkness and Living in God’s Light Our world unravels more each day. It feels as if we’re drowning in a sea churning with greed, violence, and lust. As darkness advances, hope dims. Yet within that reality, God gives us a profound mandate... Be Light Light has always defined God and His followers. At creation, God spoke light into existence. Jesus is the light of the world. And we are born to absorb and then reflect God’s light. In Be Light Samuel Rodriguez—described by Fox News and CNN as “America’s most influential Latino Evangelical leader”—provides a blueprint for confronting darkness in every realm of our lives. He issues a clarion call for individual believers and the church to rise up and once again be that bright city on a hill that doesn’t simply expose the invading darkness, but overcomes it with God’s blazing light. more

This work, based on a challenge from God found in Zechariah 10, challenges the church to press through spiritual lethargy and move into an arena of spiritual power. The modern church, particularly the American church, in spite of improved methodology and the emergence of the "megachurch," had been losing ground over the last few decades. Numerical loss, financial loss, and worst of all, spiritual loss, has been the bane of the American church and must be addressed. The author contends that while we must maintain excellence in every area of ministry, to continue the current track of ignoring the powerful spiritual dynamic of the presence of the Holy Spirit-in both our lives and our corporate worship settings-will hasten our demise. The answer, found in the call from heaven through Zechariah, is for both individuals and the church to earnestly call out to God for MORE of His glory. more

Spiritual Laws For Successful Living

Spiritual Laws For Successful Living

In a room filled with some of Atlanta’s prominent movers and shakers—mostly from Episcopal and Jewish faith traditions—a discussion of the Mount Paran Church and its pastor arose. My first thought was to indicate that Paul Walker and I had been friends for a half century, but I wisely chose to remain silent and listen. What followed was a surprising affirmation of Pastor Paul Walker and the Mount Paran Church. Paul was described in remarkable terms like respected, great integrity, excellent communicator, and community asset. None of these neighbors ever knew that Paul and I were acquainted. That community discussion by Atlanta leaders was a reflection of Paul Walker’s ministry at the Mount Paran Church in Atlanta. For thirty-eight years, he helped meet the spiritual needs of a large, diverse congregation. Dr. Walker’s unusual spiritual insight is confirmed in his latest book, Spiritual Laws for Successful Living. This edition of his recent releases is a compelling, faith-inspiring compilation of spiritual truth. A legendary leader and one of America’s great pastors, he speaks eloquently to preachers and laity on the relationship of spirituality and successful living. more

Justin Wise speaks about social media as this generation's printing press-a revolutionary technology that can spread the gospel further and faster than we can imagine. Understanding The Ministry Of The Holy Spirit

Understanding The Ministry Of The Holy Spirit

With the birth of the Pentecostal and Charismatic Movements in the twentieth century and their amazing growth in recent years has come a new interest in the Bible’s teaching and the church’s doctrine of the Holy Spirit. Unquestionably, God is pouring out the Holy Spirit and bringing more people than ever before in history into the Kingdom. God decided before the foundation of the world that He would not let the death of His Son, Jesus Christ, be in vain. From the beginning, God sovereignly planned that these end times—before the return of Christ—would be times filled with an overwhelming deluge of His Holy Spirit, calling people to His side from the four corners of the Earth. More than ever, it seems critically important for God’s people to have a vibrant, personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. As believers welcome the activity of the Holy Spirit in the church, questions of theology and practice arise. In this book, Dr. Raymond Culpepper responds to 24 key questions related to the ministry of the Spirit. Learning the answers to the questions will ensure a correct and orderly manifestation of the Spirit’s ministry. more

What Is Pentecost?

What Is Pentecost?

This is a revised edition of the classic 1963 edition, which has been out-of-print for many years. In the introduction to the 1963 edition, then editor in chief of Church of God Publications Lewis J. Willis said, “Only a minimum of editing has been employed so as to retain the spiritual warmth and personal freshness of pulpit delivery.” That statement remains true with this new edition. A sincere effort has been made to retain the style and spirit of Dr. Hughes’ writing on this important subject. The revisions are minimal. The major change is a new format for the Study Section at the end of the book. Other changes include correcting typographical errors found in the 1963 edition, adding Scripture references to all quoted verses, updating the copyright page, typesetting the book in a more readable modern typeface, redesigning the inside pages, and adding a new four-color cover. It is hoped that these changes will make the revised edition even more usable for a new generation of readers who are seeking the answer to the question, What Is Pentecost? more
